Who we are

CottCare is operated by Chalet Paradise Hospitality Group Inc, an Ontario corporation ("we"). CottCare is a directory and reputation service for cottage owners and local service providers in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario.

What CottCare does, and does not do

We help owners find providers and let both sides review each other after a job. We are not a party to any job. Price, scope, dates, and payment are agreed directly between the owner and the provider, outside CottCare. We do not process payments, hold funds, charge commission, issue invoices, or collect tax on anyone's behalf.

"Approved by CottCare"

This badge means we spoke to the provider and checked references they gave us. It does not mean we ran a criminal record check, verified insurance, or guarantee their work. Insurance details shown on a profile were entered by the provider and are displayed, not verified.

Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep that email account secure. You're responsible for what's done through your account. You must be 18 or over.

Your content

Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. Reviews that contain a street address, phone number, or other private details may be held before publication. We may remove content that is defamatory, abusive, or not about a real job. Reviews publish only after both parties have had the chance to write theirs, or after 14 days.

Privacy of addresses

A property's address is shared with a provider only when that provider accepts a job there. Providers must not share, store beyond the job, or misuse addresses.

Providers

You confirm the information in your listing is accurate and that you'll keep your availability current. You are an independent business, not our employee or contractor. You're responsible for your own licences, insurance, taxes and conduct.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, we're not liable for any loss arising from a job arranged through CottCare, from reliance on a review or badge, or from a provider's or owner's acts or omissions. The service is provided as-is.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from the app or at cottcare.com/account/delete. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Published reviews remain, anonymised, so the record stays honest for others.
