Who is responsible

Chalet Paradise Hospitality Group Inc, operating as CottCare, Ontario, Canada. Privacy contact: privacy@cottcare.com.

What we collect

• Account: email, name, phone (optional), and a photo if you add one.
• Owners: property label, street address (private), lake/township, bedrooms, access flags, notes.
• Providers: business details, services, areas, rates, availability, insurance details you enter, and your public profile.
• Activity: requests, jobs, messages between you and the other party, reviews, alert responses, and when you confirmed your availability.
• Technical: sign-in tokens, device tokens for the mobile app, push notification tokens, and server logs. We count public profile views using a short-lived hashed identifier, not your identity.

How we use it

To run the service: showing listings, matching requirements to providers, sending the emails and notifications the service depends on, moderating reviews, and keeping the directory current. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Who sees what

• A provider's profile and photo are public. An owner's photo is visible only to a provider they are working with.
• A property's street address is shown to a provider only after that provider accepts a job there. Alerts and notifications never contain a street address or an owner's full name.
• Messages are private to the two parties. A CottCare administrator may open a thread to resolve a report; every such access is logged.
• Published reviews show the author's first name and initial.

Service providers we use

Hosting and database in Canada; transactional email (Resend); our email inboxes, e.g. if you write to hello@ or privacy@cottcare.com (Zoho Mail, hosted in the United States); push notifications (Expo, Apple, Google); address suggestions while you type your cottage address (Photon, using OpenStreetMap data — it receives the text you type, not your name or email); map tiles (OpenStreetMap). Each processes data only to deliver the service.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove personal details, revoke access, and keep reviews you wrote in anonymised form and an audit record of the deletion. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your choices

Separate unsubscribe links for job alerts, availability reminders and season reminders are at the bottom of each. Messages about jobs you're part of can't be turned off while the job is active. You can delete your account from the app or at cottcare.com/account/delete, and ask us what we hold about you at privacy@cottcare.com.
